Health Coaching for Type 2 Diabetes

Studies have shown health coaching can improve quality of life for clients with chronic illnesses such  as type 2 diabetes. One research study, written by Dr. Diana Sherifali and published in the Canadian Journal of Diabetes, looks at the impact of having a diabetes health coach on individuals who have type 2 diabetes. Health Coaching for Individuals with Chronic Illnesses

A separate study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a health coaching program in improving health outcomes and disease management among healthcare employees who have chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Participants were assigned to receive health coaching sessions with a trained coach, who provided them with personalized support and guidance on how to manage their chronic diseases, set health goals, and make lifestyle changes. The results of the study showed that the health coaching program was associated with improvements in biometric measures and patient-reported outcomes. Participants reported that they felt more in control of their chronic diseases, had better quality of life and were satisfied with the health coaching program. AI-driven Health Coaching for Lifestyle Changes

Another research study by Dr. Carol Ann Maher & others explored the use of an artificially intelligent virtual health coach to deliver a physical activity and diet program. The study found that the virtual health coach was able to provide personalized feedback and support to participants, and that it was well-received by participants. The study also found that the program was effective in promoting physical activity and healthy eating, resulting in improved health outcomes for participants. Mindfulness can be as Effective as Anxiety Drugs

Practicing mindfulness to relieve anxiety can be just as effective as medication, new research shows. A recent study published in JAMA Psychiatry showed that people who received eight weeks of mindfulness-based interventions experienced a decrease in anxiety that matched those who were prescribed escitalopram, a common anti-anxiety medication that is often prescribed under the brand name Lexapro. A seven-point scale was used to assess anxiety among 208 participants, with a score of seven representing extreme anxiety and a score of one being normal. In both the medication and the mindfulness groups, the average score after treatment dropped from a moderate level of anxiety to a mild level of anxiety. Benefits of Health Coaching for Women

The study by Dr. Dionne V Gootjes titled "Neighborhood Deprivation and the Effectiveness of Mobile Health Coaching to Improve Periconceptional Nutrition and Lifestyle in Women" aimed to investigate the effectiveness of mobile health coaching in improving periconceptional nutrition and lifestyle in women living in deprived neighborhoods in a large urban municipality in the Netherlands. The study found that mobile health coaching was effective in improving periconceptional nutrition/lifestyle in these women and that mobile health coaching may be a valuable tool in addressing health disparities in deprived neighborhoods. Another study by Dr. Oostingh suggests that health coaching can be beneficial for pregnant clients and those seeking fertility options. The study suggests that health coaching can improve health outcomes and decrease healthcare costs. The study discusses how health coaching addresses issues such as pregnancy-related complications, gestational diabetes, and preterm birth, and how it can increase the chances of conception and successful pregnancy.
